Odyssey of the Mind
Odyssey of the Mind is a specialized program created to help students develop creative problem-solving skills through teamwork and innovation. Because the program is student-led, participants also build leadership, collaboration, and confidence in their ideas while learning to think critically and creatively.

Students work in teams over several months to develop a Long-Term Problem solution, designing and building creative presentations that demonstrate their solution to a specific challenge. In competition, teams also complete a Spontaneous Problem, which requires them to think quickly and solve a challenge on the spot without prior preparation.
Teams compete locally, and top-performing teams advance to State competitions. Students who perform well at the state level can advance to the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals, competing against teams from around the globe.
Ferry Pass students have had incredible success in this program. Two teams from Ferry Pass Middle School recently competed at the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals at Michigan State University, representing the state of Florida among international teams.
